Gifts for home!

A cozy comfortable home is a gift to everyone that lives there!  Here are a few of our favorite things that help make our own house feel like home to us!  You'll notice these items all have a hygee feel and speak to all of our senses to create a cozy home.   Many are neutral so that they can fit into any style home!  Happy holidays to your home and everyone in it!

These vases look great on your table or mantel with fresh or faux evergreen and berry stems for the holidays.  A quick but simple way to add a little holiday cheer to any room in your house.  You can even separate and add to different rooms- personally I would love the small one on my bedside table!   You can easily change out the stems or leave them empty for other seasons.

The scent of a home welcomes you in.  Our family loves the volcano scent which you can use in diffusers for larger rooms or in a reed diffuser for a small space like a bathroom.   We occasionally burn candles in our kitchen and this warm & cozy one lives up to it's name.  For candles on our table, mantel and fireplace this year we are going with these flickering flameless candles with a remote.  We love the look and ease of these!

We not only like our home to smell warm and cozy but to feel that way as well.  All the girls in our household own these slippers and they are as cozy as they look!  We also are a huge snuggling family that loves to curl up under blankets on our couch and in our rooms.  And of course we want our dog to be cozy and cute too!

One of our favorite things to do is to have a charcuterie board for appetizers with guests or while watching a football or hockey game, or even for dinner in front of a holiday movie.   Wine is often poured for the adults too.  You know those glasses always seem to break so the wine drinkers in your life can always use some new ones! When we are sitting around the island or kitchen table we like to add cushions to our seats so that we can linger for hours over a meal or a game!  Again it's all about comfort!

We love decor with a personal meaning.  These wooden knots are some of our favorites to include in a room.  The two knot is cute to represent a newly married couple, or two kids.  The three can represent a new addition to the family or three children (or pets!).

I may have a bit of a throw pillow addiction (shhhh!) Not a bad vice to have in my opinion.   Our kids hang out area is in our attic...it is basically made of mattresses on the floor put into a sectional formation with body pillows to lean against.  A teenage dream hangout.  It is used for watching movies and many many sleepovers.   My kids love having these in their rooms as well to use their beds as a couch when friends are over.

We recently upgraded to a king sized bed and we are sad we waited so long!  Every night before we go to bed we comment on the fact that we can't believe we waited this long to go to a king sized bed.  25 years to be exact!  We are so happy we upgraded!  With that change though meant new pillows, bedding, etc etc etc...you don't realize how many changes a new bed can make.  We love our new comforter.  Although a bit of a splurge it is amazing.  Pssst...we suggest you don't wait as long as we did!

Cutest wrapping paper book for yourself or the consummate gift giver in your life!  I had to buy this for my step mom!

A little gift for the nerd in your life (that's you Rod).  For the man who tracks his gas usage and can't wait to figure out what is causing all our electrical bills to be so high (and yes you have to wait till Christmas!)

And last but not least the perfect bag to take with you when you hit the road to Grandma's house, the gym, a girls weekend....
Because with all that cozy you have to bring some of it on the road with you!
