What a Long Strange Trip It's Been...2020 Life in Quarantine

We've been bored, we've been crafty, we've worked out, we've gone on lots of walks, we've climbed our walls but mostly I think we will all look back at this strange time and remember the puppies...so many puppies! We made the best of quarantine, covid19 and 2020 and decided to become fosters for Great Dog Rescue New England.  Our very first rescue was a pregnant momma dog from down south.  We fostered her for a week and a half before she blessed us with 7 beautiful puppies born in our home on Mother's Day Eve.  I may just have to post a separate post all about her labor and delivery and the puppies growth.  It was such an amazing experience for us all to have together during this time when we weren't seeing our friends and the world had shut down.  The puppies kept us busy, supplied lots of therapy, provided for many outside socially distant visits with friends to help socialize them and gave us so much love and affection and a few puppy nibbles.   We brought them back and forth to our lake house in NH numerous times.   We had momma and all 7 puppies for 7 1/2 weeks and then sent 3 of the puppies off to be fostered by my brother and sister-in-law.   Momma went to her home with a young family and we kept 4 puppies (including the one we decided to keep forever) for another two weeks.   So all in all that foster experience lasted 9 1/2 weeks.  This fall with an 11 year old lab mix and our new 5 1/2 month old puppy we signed up to foster two more 6 week old puppies.   A much shorter stay (only a week and a half) but many more snuggles, visitors and even a trip to NH to celebrate my mom's 79th birthday.  We bid them farewell today as they headed off to be spayed before heading home to their forever homes tomorrow.  So glad to have been a part of their journey!    Here's a snapshot from instagram of these last 6 months...
